The Tertiary Sisters of Saint Francis wish you a grace-filled Christmas and abundant blessings for the Year 2021. We pray that Christ the Prince of Peace may grant you the peace and joy which only He can give. May He open to us the treasures of His love and inspire us to always bear in mind that "we have been called to heal wounds, to unite what has fallen apart and to bring home those who have lost their way). At this time when we are experiencing the horrors of the Covid-19 pandemic, untold suffering due to wars and natural calamities and man's inhumanity to man is steadily on the increase, we are challenged to reflect more and more on the mystery of the incarnation. As we reflect on the humility of God made manifest in the nativity scene, let us strive to be mothers, brothers and sisters of Christ by conceiving Him in our hearts and giving birth to him through our good deeds. For this to happen, we need to develop a more profound relationship with Christ. In this vein, Francis of Assisi says in his First letter to the Faithful, " we are spouses when the faithful soul is joined by the Holy Spirit to our Lord Jesus Christ. We are brothers to Him when we do the will of the Father who is in heaven. We are mothers when we carry Him in our heart and body through a divine love and a pure and sincere conscience and give birth to Him through a holy activity which must shine as an example before others"( numbers 8-10). As we celebrate Christmas, let us foster solidarity by reaching out in love to those who suffer. Through our good deeds let us be mothers to the orphans and vulnerable children who suffer due to unjust social structures. Let us reach out in fraternal love to our suffering brethren. In this way, we shall continue reliving the mystery of the incarnation throughout the year.
